Paul Joseph Dailey

Where to start… Paul liked about any sport that included a ball. He played “t” ball and little league baseball. He was a ferocious hitter and thrower and did well at it. Paul would “help” his dad and older brother work on race cars and attended all the races. When he was four, he got on a little Honda 50. He drove it straight into the back fence, but would not let that stop him and he soon mastered it. When he was seven he got his own racer in the form of a paved track go kart. He and his dad raced every weekend at various tracks in Oregon and Washington. He started dirt track racing after a couple years, and won a couple track championships and over 100 trophies. He raced at the nationals held in Lebanon and placed 4th out of 70-80 entrants.

When he was 15, he started racing a Camaro dirt track stock car. He won a few races and had to quit because of his dad’s work schedule. He and his parents moved to Sandy, Oregon on 10 acres and he continued his racing… on a tractor and lawnmower and a small excavator. He was a very good machine operator.

He eventually went to Job Corps and earned a welding certification. He had a few welding jobs but never pursued it as a profession. Paul got his CDL when he turned 18 and his dad gave him a job as a dump truck driver. He learned quickly, and he did a great job and was popular with the various companies he was contracted to and with the foremen and crews he worked with. His favorite pastimes were fishing and camping. Eventually he moved on to other pursuits. With the help of his dad, he taught himself how to prep and apply powder coating finishes. He became very good at it and started his own business.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by many.
