Matthew "Jet" Black

Matthew Benjamin “Jet” Black, 23 of Portland OR, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1999 in Portland, Oregon to Jeffrey and Jean Black. He attended Mt. Hood Community College and Grant Park Baptist Church. Jet loved listening to music, creating voice impersonation work, photography and was active in choir and theater. Jet was the “go to” person when it came to selling cell phones and all things electronic. He was knowledgeable and showed great patience with many – including the older generation.

Jet is survived by his mother Jean Black of Gresham OR; father Jeff Black (Michelle) of Vancouver WA; brother Jasper Black of Gresham OR; grandparents Fred & Ruby Black of Aloha OR; stepsister Rebecca Emmett of Blaine WA; stepbrother Joshua Steele of Vancouver WA and extended family in the Spokane and the Las Vegas area.

A Celebration of Jet’s Life will be held at Grant Park Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon located at 2728 NE 34th Street (cross street is Knott) on Saturday, 9/17/22 @ 2PM. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
