Mary Ann Rohrbough, 79 of Damascus OR, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019. She was born on January 6, 1940 in Wailuku, Hawaii on the Island of Maui to Herman and Mary (Wong) Aizawa. She graduated from St. Anthony High School, received her Bachelor’s in Science from Marylhurst College and her Master’s in Education from the University of Oregon. Mary Ann married Dale Dempster Rohrbough on November 14, 1964 in Portland, Oregon.
Mary Ann worked as a schoolteacher for 30 years which included Menlo Park Grade School, supervising student teachers at Portland State University and other Portland Public Schools before her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Retired Oregon Teachers Association, St. Henry Catholic Church and Sun-seekers. Mary Ann enjoyed traveling and was an avid Oregon Ducks, Oregon Beavers and Portland Trailblazers fan.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Dale Rohrbough of Damascus OR; son Stephen Rohrbough (Rebecca) of Portland OR; daughter Stephanie Hawes (Michael) of Happy Valley OR; sister Eloise Hiu of Manoa HI; brother Herman Aizawa of Kaneohe HI and grandchildren Blake, Samantha, Patrick, Alexa and Ireland.
A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham, Oregon. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Henry Church, 346 NW First Street, Gresham OR 97030 with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions may be made as donations to the Autism Society of Oregon at www.autismsocietyoregon.org on behalf of the family.
