Mrs. Mary Jo McKee Henke

Mary Johanna Henke, a resident of Gresham, Oregon, died on March 11, 2010 in Gresham. She was 64 years of age.

Mary Jo was born on February 19, 1946 in Eugene, Oregon and was the daughter of Myrl and Euzetta (Holeman) McKee. As a young girl, she moved to Portland where she graduated from high school in 1964. She attended 1 year at George Fox University in Forest Grove and began working as bookkeeper for her father and McKee Pontiac in Oregon City.

On February 19, 1977, Mary Jo married Michael Henke at her home in Portland. They resided in Troutdale for 12 years and in Gresham for the last 15.

Mary Jo was a kind spirit that never met a stranger. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and produced beautiful stitchery. She had a great smile and everyone loved her. Her greatest love in life, however, was her husband, Mike. She simply enjoyed their breakfast outings every morning and spending time with the one she loved. She will be dearly missed.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Mike of Gresham, mother, Euzetta McKee of Newberg and brother, Gary McKee of Kansas. Her father, Myrl and her brother, Larry both preceded her in death.

A celebration of Mary Jo's Life will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Contributions may be made in her memory to Multiple Sclerosis.
