Mary A. Fessler

Mary moved to Oregon from Ohio when she was sixteen years old. She was a long time Southeast Portland area resident. She had lived in Gresham, Oregon for the last 35 years.

Mary married Raymond Fessler in 1947 in Portland, Oregon. Raymond died in 2001. Mary was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Portland where she participated in the Alter Guild.

Mary was a dedicated mother. She enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing, reading and going camping.

Survivors include her three daughters, Linda and her husband Don Sanada, of Phoenix, Arizona, Janet DeSau, of Newport, OR., and Barbara and her husband John Loffink, of Damascus, OR., sister Rita Suriano, Spokane, WA., 5 grandchildren, Greg, Jeff and Michael DeSau, Andrea Loffink-Saito and Kenneth Loffink and 5 great-grandchildren.

Donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Recitation of the Rosary service will be on Friday, June 1st at 10:30 am followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church located at 2310 SE 148th Ave. in Portland. A concluding committal service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
