Marlin Edward Plank passed away on March 29, 2014 at his home in Portland, Oregon. He was born on December 15, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa to parents Emmerson and Mary Plank. Marlin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Iowa State University. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service in 1993 after a long and distinguished career and was an active member of the 30 year foresters (Old Smokey's Club). He spent his leisure time playing golf and was an avid bird watcher. Always a fan of spectator sports, the Chicago Cubs was one of his all-time favorite teams. Marlin was a pillar in the church community and the volunteer’s volunteer at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Marlin is survived by his wife, June Plank; children Corey (Cynthia) Plank, Karen (Lt Col Richard) Bravo, Edward (Melinda) Plank, Diana (David) Steagall, Andrew (Misty) Plank and Susan Cannard; grandchildren André Bravo, Angelina Bravo, Grady Plank, Sawyer Plank, AMT3 Anne Taylor, Taylor Steagall, Nick Steagall, Mya Steagall, Haylee Plank, Andrew (Drew) Plank, Kylee Plank, Courtney Cannard, and Brandon Cannard; sister Phyllis Beaubien, and nieces and nephews.
