Grandma,

The memories I have of you will always remain close to my heart. I will always remember the great summer visits we had growing up. can't think of very many Grandparents that had a large pool and big collection of movies for those rainy days. Helping you was always the best, you were always willing to take time and teach us anything from how to fold sheets, card games and you little electric gambling games. I regret that I had not seen you as much as I would have liked in the last few years since I moved to Montana and your annual Mother's day trips. But mom made sure to let me know how proud of me you were. Grandma I hope you know how much I looked up to you for what a beautiful and loving person you were and appreciate everything you ever did for me. 
I remember getting sent outside with a salt shaker to find slugs when you and mom needed some time to talk.
I am so glad I got to see you in August and give you a big hug. Thank you for every kind action or word that you ever gave me and how proud you were of my accomplishments, even though I never felt they were very significant.

Grandma you left us too soon, I know you will be looking down upon us and I hope I will always make you proud

My Mother in law was an angel on earth, well before God called her back to help in heaven. She always found the best in people, even when they mistreated others. I regret not thanking you for talking my better half into giving me a second chance 21 years ago.

Grandma, first I have to say I miss u more than anything..  I will always miss your famous fried chicken and scalloped potatoes. I'll miss staying up till 11:00 with you talking about how crazy the world is. But the biggest thing I'll miss is seeing u smile and tell me I'm growing up to be a beautiful young lady. It was a real pleasure to have met  Margie Flintoff! Her kindness, humbleness, sincere smile and love for her kids reminded me so much of my own mother. I didn't get to spend as much time with her as I would've like  but, I got to know her well through Rick and I could always relate to the enormous love he felt for his Mom. For us lucky ones around this amazing family she created, we get to witness her unconditional love through Rick and his sisters. Comparing her to my Mom in so many ways is the best complement I could give her...now they're both smiling down at us!

From the moment I met you, you welcomed me as a member of your family.  You had such a gentle, quiet, and kind nature that it was such a joy to be around you. Grandma,
I don't know how to write this. I was blessed to have you as my grandma.  From spending weeks with you at the motel, gambling and camping, life just won't be the same.  There are so many things we got to share together and I am so thankful I got you for as long as I did.  I know you blessed me with the most beautiful weather on my wedding day and I am devastated that you couldn't be there to celebrate with us.  I will always remember your laugh and your stubbornness and I hope that I can be even half the woman you are.  I can't thank you enough for all the love and wisdom you have given me throughout my life and I wish my kids could have had the opportunity to meet you, though if I end up with twins, it's all your fault.  I love you!

Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought of you, and wished you were still with us. It is hard to believe that I was only nine years old when we met.  I have been thinking about all the funny things that we did in the past. We had some good laughs and really good times together. I have always loved your smile and your blue eyes. You will be greatly missed. Give Mom and Dad, Rod and Steven a hug and a kiss for me. Some day I will see you again.

Margie, I have known you since I was sixteen.  I was going with Nancy, and you treated me just like family.   Since that time, until forever, I will always remember you as the nicest person I have ever met (except for Nancy of course).  If I did something nice, you would always point it out and If I did something stupid, you would always point that out too.When Nancy and I would have a problem I could always call you and you would listen to me. Sometimes I would agree with you and sometimes I would not.  (which I normally would find out, on the " I did not agree" that you were right just about all the time).  Sometimes I was concerned about you.  I just couldn't understand how someone could be pregnant for 7 years.   Course I was young and stupid and didn't know much about the "birds and bees".   You answered that question on the day Nancy and I got married.  As soon as the service was over, you took me aside,  and I quote "Don you know I'm pregnant with my fifth child and I won't be having any more, I found what caused children so today I quit smoking" you smiled, turned around and walked off.  After a four day honeymoon I returned to San Diego for training.  The next time I saw you was 14 months later when I got back from overseas.  When I saw you, you were smoking.  I looked at you grinned and asked "are you going to have another baby".  Again, you looked at me, smiled  turned around and walked off.   Whenever the family got together I knew that if you were there, I could always ask you anything and I would always get a straight answer.  When you and Rod were married, you were one of my best friends as well as my sister-in-law.  From that point on you have always been my sister-in-law as well as one of my best friends.  When you and Jim got together I found out I had another brother-in-law.  I don't think you could have found anybody any better than Jim.

Grandma –
It is impossible for me to list everything that I will miss about you but I'm going to try my hardest:
1. I'll miss your simplistic views of life and your traditional thinking.
2. I'll miss you telling me to give people the benefit of the doubt.
3. I'll miss driving to your house for that needed advice that I can't get anywhere else.  You always looked at things openly and never took anyone's side.
4. I'll miss just driving to your house to see you.
5. I'll miss our annual gambling trips.
6. I'll miss you joking with me about me drinking too much (I know you are so proud I finally grew out of the stage).
7. I'll miss your marionberry delight desert that yes I drove across the Portland metro-area to have again.
8. I'll miss our drives to moms, you couldn't get much better in the sense of quality time.
9. I'll miss staying up late to watch the news or being able to talk about the news with you while visiting.
10. I'll miss the corky gifts you buy me just because they reminded you of a funny time we had together.
11. I'll miss joking about that one time you drank 1 too many red beers and told grandpa “WHATEVER”, after learning the implied meaning of it.
12. I'll miss answering those insurance/computer/technology questions for you because you just wanted it fixed.
13. I'll miss the advice of keeping up a clean home.
14. I'll miss the shopping trips when you just picked out another blue shirt, similar to the one you already had in your closet.
15. I'm sad that you won't be able to see Emma grow to be a wonderful women and be able to teach her all the same things.

I miss you and I always will. You are such a big part of my life, I so many great memories, from grabbing your leg and begging for pany cakes to our clamming trip this summer and many in between. I know you have always been so proud of us grandkids, and we will continue to make you proud. I miss you but I know that you will always be here watching over me. I met Margie last year even though I have heard so much about her for over 27 years.  What I remembered most about Margie was her sweet and kind spirit.  As I read other tributes, it's clear that others feel the same way.  Margie truly was a beautiful person and I feel blessed to have finally got to meet her.

Mom,
I have always looked up to you.  You are the most beautiful, caring, hardworking amazing woman I know.  You told me last week how proud you are of your children you raised.  And your grandchildren have all grown up to be responsible, caring adults.  You told me you felt you did a good job.  Well I agree!  You did do a good job... You taught all of us how to love unconditionally, forgive the people we love, and that there is good in everyone.  Live each day to the fullest.
You told me I reminded you of yourself, I hope you knew what a compliment that was to me... If I could be half the woman you are I would be satisfied.
I wish I could have spent more days with you.  Seems life was always to busy.  And you would say, I don't know how you do it.  Which was funny, since you did the same thing when you were raising your children.  I loved the times we did share, our annual Mothers day trips, family gatherings, playing cards, clamming and just sitting around talking.
Mom, I will miss your smile that brightened every room, your laughter and your beautiful blue eyes full of love. And most of all your encouraging, calming voice on the phone every time I needed someone to talk to.  I know we will heal, but you will be in my thoughts every day and forever missed and loved. 
I will see you in myself, my siblings, my children and grandchildren.
You have made all of us the people we are today.

There are a million different things I am going to miss about you, specifically your smile, your hug and your unconditional love. 
You were an amazing woman who taught everyone how to love another no matter their flaws. You taught me the importance of forgiveness and trust in one another. You were a very strong, stubborn, loving, caring mother and grandmother who always put others first, especially your family. 
You have been here through thick and thin and always available to talk through situations. Your advice was always straight forward and you never took sides. You are and always will be loved more than you will ever know. 
So, Grandma, how do you say goodbye forever to someone you love? I have asked myself this question numerous times and I still don't have an answer. What I do know is that I will always love you and will think about you and our memories everyday. I honestly do not believe I will fully say goodbye because you will forever remain in my heart and be a part of who I am.

You were the most amazing woman I knew. You have always been my rock, my whole life. You were the most loving, caring, honest person, you never judged anyone. You were always there for me even in the middle of the night 300+ miles away. I could count on you for anything. I loved hanging out with you, it didn't matter what we were doing, we could sit and talk for hours, it never got old. You told me you loved being a mom and grandma, that you were so proud of all your kids and grandkids. You did an amazing job of raising us, you taught us all your morals, kindness, and caring. It was up to us to use everything we learned from you wisely. You were always so excited for any of us to come visit you. My only regret, I wish I would have visited you more. You will always be in my heart, I am not sure how I am going to go on without you. I love you mom and will miss you every day for the rest of my life.

Margie was a kind and wonderful person. I remember the first time I met her. She instantly welcomed me as a member of the family. I later became her gambling partner, my only regret is that we didn't make it to Las Vegas Margie. Thank-you for the fond memories I have of you.

My heart is heavy, but also full.  I was so very thankful for you, Mom. I have no regrets, because i told you often how special and loved you were.  I could not have had a better Mother, if God had let me pick her out myself.  You taught me   what it really meant to Love.  A Love that was unconditional, and many times with personal sacrifice.  You always put the ones you Love before your own needs.  Always trying to protect us from pain and sorrow.  Yet not once did you ever ask for anything in return. In life, there is not a lot that comes easy, but loving you has been simple. From Mother's Day trips, to hours of Yahtzee, to simple things like "scratch it's" or long talks are just a few things that won't be the same without you. You have and always will be my best friend. Through all the ups and downs this crazy life has thrown our way, you have always been there to talk with, laugh with, cry with and pick me up when I was down. I can't imagine my life without you. The emptiness in my heart will be a continuous struggle knowing there is no response when I talk to you, laugh with you or reach out to hug you. Mom, I have never met anyone like you, your ability to walk into a room of strangers and by the time you leave you would have made life long friends. You made people feel like a part of the family.
