On March 26, 1950 Ella married Edwin “Ed” Wills. Mr. Wills preceded Ella in death in 2010.
Ella enjoyed bowling, sports, especially the Oregon Ducks, baking, and gambling on the slot machines.
In 1959 Ella and her husband Ed bought an ice cream store at Southeast 218th Avenue and Stark Street, which they called the Double Decker. They offered 34 flavors of homemade ice cream and sold hamburgers, five for $1. The Wills also operated the Thumb Hole Café at Rockwood Bowl and the Oregon Drive Café. From 1991-2007 Ella worked at Pic-A-Deli Catering. Later she was a food demonstrator at Winco Grocery Store.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon. Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Ella was preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin Carey Wills, her parents, Ernest and Eva Ruth, her two siblings, Maxine Williams and Frank Ruth, and a grandson Shann Younce.
Ella is survived by her three children, Robert James Wills, Corbett, OR., Karen Ann and her husband Ron Younce, Battleground, WA., and Charles Dale and his wife Mary Wills, Corbett, OR. brother Ron Ruth, four grandchildren=Mike, Scott, Jaclyn and Brian, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
