It is with great sadness we must announce the passing of Vera Marie Stover. She departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the age of 71. She was a dearly loved and valued member of the Tyro Community Church for over 30 years. She worked for many years at the Sugarloaf Lake Country Store, where she made many lifelong friends and memories with all that came in. She was loved by all who met her and were blessed to call her friend.
She is preceded in life by husband, Smokey Stover, her mother, Bettie Jo Jones and her dad, Cleo B Jones. She is survived in life by her brother, Roy Jones and sister-in-law, Glena Jones of Sugarloaf Lake; her two nephews, Heath Jones and wife, Casey Jones of Hackett and Brian Jones of the home; her two nieces, Brenna and Matthew Lawhorne of Mansfield and Amanda and Wood Hester of Hartford; ten great nephews and nieces and one great great nephew.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m., Thursday, October 24 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Heath Jones, Conner Jones, Troy Flanery, Trey Flanery, Cogan Hester and Wyatt Hester. Honorary pallbearer will be Kingston Jones.
