Stanley Craig Roe passed away to his heavenly home on November 2, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones, after a four-and-a-half-year battle with leukemia. He was born in Milltown, Arkansas on October 5, 1943 to Orva and Ruby Roe.
Stan was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director for 24 years. He also served as a yokefellow, and on many other committees throughout the years. He met his wife Sandy there at Rye Hill and they were married Christmas Eve 1999.
Stan leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Sandy of the home; son, Tony Roe and wife, Linda of Perkins, OK; a daughter, Teresa Roe of Jacksonville, FL; bonus daughters, Angela Ulmer and husband, Brian of Greenwood, AR and Adrienne Burgoyne and husband, Drew of Wauwatosa, WI; his sister, Donna Cochran of Greenwood; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren and his beloved fur baby, Heidi. Stan was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 8 at Rye Hill Baptist Church with interment at Dawson Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Our family wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Mackey and staff at the Mercy Oncology Clinic, the Mercy Infusion Lab and the Mercy Hospice staff and all who donated blood in Stan’s honor. We will be forever grateful for the care Stan received these past few years.
