Mary Helen Booth, 82, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was born in Cromwell, Oklahoma, on July 15, 1942 to Joe and Pearl Crossland, Mary Helen grew up in Wewoka, Oklahoma and after graduating high school, moved to Fort Smith, where she lived most of her life and raised her two daughters. She was employed as a certified dietary aid in food service at St Edwards and Vista Health. Some of Mary Helen’s favorite things were shopping at Wal-Mart, eating out, watching TV and listening to Elvis CDs. She was known as being feisty and a go-getter.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Miller and husband, Chip of Fayetteville and Kim Branstetter and husband Jim of Van Buren, three grandchildren, Logan (Caty), Jordan (Colby), Laleshia and two great grandchildren ,Crew and Walker, as well as several nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Pearl Crossland, her sister, Joanne Hill, her brother, Robert Crossland, and sister-in-law, Karen Crossland.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for our mom during her final years, especially Mercy Hospice, who provided needed comfort and support in her final days.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, July 26 in the chapel at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, AR, with interment at Lone Star Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Chip Miller, Logan Miller, Jim Branstetter, Connor Murphy and Jacob Brandon.
