Kenneth Danny Smith, 80, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from GTE after 32 years of service and then work for the U.S. Postal Service for 17 years as a rural mail carrier. He was a U.S Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He and his wife, Jeary lived most of their lives in New Mexico, then moved to Greenwood after retiring in 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Jeary Smith; two sons, Cory James Smith of Bonanza and Jeafry Ryan Smith of Greenwood; one granddaughter, Kristen Lea George and husband, Austin; two great grandchildren, Harvey James George and Hailey Lea George and other family members, Linnea Velsvaag and husband, Jim Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Georgia Smith and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Smith Velsvaag.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 28 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
