Floy Vesta Talley, 83, formerly of Greenwood, Arkansas died Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Russellville. She was born on September 19, 1938 in her home in Alma to Dollie Vesta Pierson (Johnston) Orben and Andrew Jackson Johnston. After starting a family, Ms. Talley obtained her GED and graduated from the LPN program being taught at UAFS, formerly Westark Community College. Her medical career spanned over 19 years at Sparks Hospital working as a LPN and then later as a certified clinical secretary.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas. Viewing will be Friday from 9-11 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.
She leaves behind a large legacy of eight children, George Shibley of Fairbury NE, James Shibley and wife, Debbie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dwayne Shibley and wife, SueAnn and Walter Shibley and wife, Juanita all of Fort Smith, Jody Benoit and husband, Billy of Greenwood, Clark Talley of Chambersburg, PA, Terrie Hewett and husband, Bill and Thomas Talley all of Russellville, 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Reba Bray of Greenwood and a brother, James Johnston of Carmichael, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Isabelle Plymale, Mary Schneider and Addie Louise Johnston; three brothers, Jerry Johnston, Acey Pierson and Richard Burton Johnston; granddaughter, Mary Thibodeaux; grandson, Nathaniel Benoit and two great grandchildren, Alex Shibley and Faith Karp
She loved the Lord and loved helping people whenever she could, especially at church where she was a long-time member of First Freewill Baptist in Greenwood. She will be very much missed by all who know and loved her.
