January 16, 1935 - February 14, 2014
Dayton Lee Moses, 79, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on February 14, 2014 in Hot Springs. He was born on January 16, 1935 in Ralls, TX. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served as a staff sergeant in the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge from the USAF, Dayton returned home to Booneville, Arkansas where he met the love of his life, Betty Blythe. May 26, 1956 began the union of what would be almost 58 years of marriage. In 1958, Dayton & Betty relocated to Odessa, Texas where Dayton joined El Paso Natural Gas Company as a plant helper. Dayton’s career with El Paso Natural Gas Company saw the company through many changes and spanned a period of 32 years. He retired with Rexene Corporation as Director of Petrochemical Operations on February 1, 1990. After retirement, Betty and Dayton moved to Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Dayton had the ability to do most anything. If he did not know how to do it, he would teach himself. Whatever he set out to accomplish, he succeeded. He never hired a mechanic, a plumber, a repairman or electrician. He never saw a need when he could do it himself. In retirement years he found a fascination with computers and taught himself all there was to know.
Dayton and Betty enjoyed many vacations throughout their retirement years. Cruises had become one of their favorites. On many of these vacations they were generous enough to include their children, son-in law, and grandchildren. These are memories we will never forget.
Dayton was a National Rifle Association Endowment Member and a member of the Republican Party. He was a Christian and a Baptist. He was also the best husband, dad, father-in-law, grandfather, grandfather-in-law and Papa anyone could ask for. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife Betty Moses of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Daughters: Teresa Dulaney and Terrie Flowers and husband Tony; Granddaughters: Tasha Kidd and husband Eli and Alyson Dulaney ; Great Grandson: Porter Lee Kidd, his pride and joy; all of Odessa, TX
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Essie Moses, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, parents-in-law, Oran and Ruth Blythe.
