Anne Lee Walker

Anne Lee Walker, 82, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 22, 2022. Hers was a life well lived. She was the only child of adoring parents, Arthur and Thelma Williams Carter. Anne married two godly men in her lifetime, Harold Glenn Hall, then Reverend Murl Walker following Harold’s untimely death. She graduated from the Westark School of Nursing at the age of 33, fulfilling her childhood determination to become a nurse. Her entire career was in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology, with the highlight being the privilege to work alongside Dr. Mike Berumen for 23 years. Through the practice of nursing, many were blessed by her wisdom and calm reassurance. Anne found joy in the simple things: early mornings spent in God’s word, time with grandsons, holding great-granddaughters, celebrations, traveling with family and friends, Friday night restaurant time with the girls, shopping and family suppers on Saturdays, singing in the First Baptist Church Van Buren choir, and time in a good book. She will be remembered as a woman of dignity, grace, kindness, and endurance.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Harold Glenn Hall and Rev. Murl Walker. She is survived by daughter, Dana Stallings (Mark); son, Kenny Hall; two grandsons, Evan Stallings (Tammy) and Carter Stallings (Ellen) and great-granddaughters, Addison and Lindley Stallings. God blessed Anne in a remarkable way with the Walker family to whom she never referred to as “step”, daughter, Linda Hoffman (Jimmy, deceased) and her children, Bob Hoffman (Kelli) and Jayme Blessing; son, Paul Walker (Sandy) and their children, Rocky Walker (Mandy) and Jared Walker (Jennie).

Immediate family will gather for a time of remembrance in Anne’s honor. Arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
