Mee was born in 1931 in Mexicali Mexico, but shortly moved and spent her childhood in Toishan China. In 1949 she married Gen (Gene) P. Chin, a resident of the US. Mee waited in China while Gen entered US Marines and served in the Korean War. The couple were reunited in 1953 and started their life in the US.
Mee has lived in Fairfield County since 1961 and in Greenwich since 1968. Over the years, Mee has owned and operated several Chinese restaurants in the area including The Golden Palace, The Golden Pearl and China Delight. She had a great affinity for the town and its people, which is demonstrated by her choice of her final resting place in Greenwich.
Mee is predeceased by her husband Gen P. Chin and her son Phillip Q. Chin. She is survived by her immediate family, daughter Jennifer Chin and son-in-law Craig Bianco. The family would like to thank all the members of the CACW church in Port Chester, New York, especially Janet and Peggy, for all of care, concern and prayers. They would also like to thank the community members of Havemeyer Place for years of love and support.
A graveside funeral ceremony in celebration of Mee will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich Connecticut. Guests may meet the family directly at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, remember Mee fondly.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.leopgallaghergreenwich.com for the Chin family.
