Margaret "Maggie" Brown Larkin passed away peacefully on Monday September 30th, 2024. Born April 12th, 1926 to parents Ernest Gay Brown and Pearl Kellam Brown in Bristol, Rhode Island. Maggie attended Mary Wheeler School, Bennett College and graduated from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a degree in Psychology in 1946. She was a proud member of Chi Omega Sorority. After a few years working in New York she met her husband Sylvester P. Larkin and settled in Greenwich Connecticut, where they raised three children. Maggie and her husband loved old houses and were blessed to own a 1750's farmhouse in Greenwich, which they lovingly cared for and added to over the years. Maggie was quite the athlete and enjoyed a good game of tennis and golf well into her 90's. She only gave up skiing in her late 70's. After her children were grown, Maggie embarked on a career in real estate and enjoyed showing Greenwich properties to her clients. Maggie was also an accomplished artist and explored the many textures of ink, pastel and paint. She proudly gave canvases of her work to her family and friends over the years. She is survived by her three children, Paton (Victoria), Van (Allan), Gay (JT), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A date to remember Maggie will be announced in the near future and in remembrance of her a gift to the Greenwich Preservation Trust is appreciated.
