It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ana Maria Ayala, beloved mother, and friend, on November 10, 2024, at the age of 86. Ana Maria was a resident of Hartsdale NY, for over 30 years where she touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, and warmth.
Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York at the tender age of three, where she lived most of her life. Ana had an unwaveringly strong, compassionate presence in the lives of her family and friends. She was known for her generosity of spirit, always willing to give her time and attention to those who needed it most. Ana Maria had an innate ability to connect with people, whether they were lifelong friends or strangers, and was a source of comfort, joy, to everyone she encountered. Her outgoing nature, love for conversation and giving advice made her a cherished companion, and she could always be counted on to bring a smile to those around her.
After 44 years of dedicated service with the Federal Government Ana Maria retired from Social Security Administration, Office of Disability Adjudication and Review, where she worked tirelessly to assist individuals, providing critical support and expertise. Ana Maria's intelligence and hard work were evident throughout her life, and she was highly respected for her dedication in both her personal and professional endeavors.
Above all, Ana Maria was a devoted mother whose love knew no bounds. She was a constant source of support, guidance, and encouragement, always putting her family first.
In addition to her love for people, Ana Maria had a deep passion for reading, the Theatre, crossword puzzles, music, dancing and shopping. Whether reading a good book in the comfort of her home, shopping online, at a social event, family gathering, she always made it a joyous part of her life.
Ana Maria is survived by her daughter and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Ana Maria’s life will be held on November 14, 2024 from 5pm to 9pm, at Leo P. Gallagher and Son’s Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. Services held on November, 15, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside, CT
Ana Maria’s memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter and loved ones, and her legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
