Virginia Clifford Drake

Virginia Clifford Drake of Greenville, SC died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at National Healthcare of Greenville. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Carter Clifford. Her first priority in life was the spiritual growth and loving development of her family. She was a devoted and faithful member of John Knox Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for many years at both Shriners Hospital and Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years James Ray Drake. She is survived by three daughters: Nancy Colley (Michael) of Delaware, Ohio, Joan Waddell (Randall) of Greenville, SC and Donna Drake of Greenville, SC; her three grandsons: Christopher Betts of Delaware, Ohio, Bryan Waddell (Tiffini) of Sugar Hill, Georgia, and Jeff Waddell of Greenville, SC. Virginia was especially proud of her two great grandchildren: Jackson and Abby Waddell of Sugar Hill, Georgia. The family wishes to thank the staff at National Healthcare of Greenville and Caris Hospice for all the loving attention they gave our Mother. Virginia will certainly live on in the hearts of her three daughters who loved her so very much. Memorial donations may be made to John Knox Presbyterian Church, 35 Shannon Dr., Greenville, SC 29615. Funeral service will be Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
