Shirley Jean Jackson was born July 14, 1952 to Leroy Jackson Sr. and Mary Emma Jackson in Greenville SC. She attended Greenville County Schools in Greenville, SC. She was a self-employed domestic worker who cared for many homes over the years including the homes of the Mitchell, the Thomas, the Linebergers, and the Baiden families.
Shirley dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on December 22, 1973. Her secular work enabled her to volunteer most of her time to her life-time passion of helping others to learn about and draw close to Jehovah God. She was devoted full-time to the disciple-making work for over 33 years. During this time, she assisted many people to come to know Jehovah.
She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and helping anyone in need. Her infectious laugh and joyful spirit brought happiness to everyone around her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Jackson Sr. and Mary Emma Jackson; her sisters, Lucille Bell Williams and Mary Phyllis Thompson; and her brothers, Billy Jackson and Edward Bell.
She leaves to mourn her death her son, LaJon A. (Ricci) Jackson; a granddaughter, Sa’Niya R. Jackson; a sister, Louvenia (Billy) Thompson; two brothers, John A. (Zomeina) Bell and Leroy (Ruth) Jackson, Jr.; and a sister-in-law and bestie, Jeanne M. Jackson along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
