Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ellen Styles, J.R. Styles, Beatrice and Claude R. Bryan.
She is survived by her beloved 2-year-old daughter, Olivia Grace; her parents, Sherri and Joey Cartee of Taylors, and David W. Bryan of Greenville; her stepmother Christine Bryan; and her sister, Shelley Bryan, who provided her with support, encouragement, and laughter throughout her life. Also left to grieve her loss is Shannon’s life partner, Markee Gibson, his son Noah Gibson, as well as Markee’s family, including his siblings and his parents Betty Gibson and Tom Edwards, all of Blacksburg. She is also lovingly remembered by her stepsister Ashton Adams (Ryan), their son Brody; and stepbrothers Stuart and Caleb Cartee.
Shannon was a 2004 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, where she excelled as a student and played the flute in the Generals marching band. She went on to earn a degree from Greenville Technical College before building a career as a highly regarded member of the Gaffney UPS hub team. Shannon was known for her special sense of humor and infamous eye rolls. She enjoyed going to the gym and weightlifting as part of her commitment to physical fitness and self-care. Above all, motherhood was the greatest gift she ever received.
Special thanks to Dr. Howland Crosswell, his staff on Innovation Drive, and the oncology team at Bon Secours Hospital in Greenville, as well as the Agape Hospice team, for the care and compassion shown to Shannon during her long battle with cancer.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Travis Glover, Chris Rainey, Steven Corry, and Eric McKinney.
