Sammy William Smith

Sammy was married to, Linda Lawson Smith, for 48 years. Together they have two children, Charlotte Collier and Lawson Smith, both of Greenville. He was especially proud of his two grandchildren, Hannah Collier, 16, and Ty Collier, 13, both of Lugoff, SC.

Sammy and Linda had a successful piano tuning and repair business in the Greenville area for 46 years. He was active in the Piano Technicians Guild Western Carolina Chapter, often mentoring fellow piano tuners. He was well known in the music community and often referred to as the Master Piano Tuner.

In the last ten years, following a liver transplant, Sammy spoke to several groups, and to anyone who would listen, about the importance of organ donation. A special thank you to Homestead Hospice, their staff and private care givers.

Visitation will be at Mackey Mortuary, on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Northgate Baptist Church, Summit Drive, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Graveside following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
