Roy Wilson Cureton, Jr., 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully Monday, September 24, 2018. Born in Columbus, GA to Virginia and Roy Wilson Cureton, he grew up in Greenville, SC and graduated from Clemson University. He served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He retired with 22 years of service, at the rank of Colonel. Roy was a successful human resources executive in the textile industry, with over 35 years experience working. He was with Springs Industries in Fort Mill and Lancaster, SC and New York, NY, and with Galey and Lord in Columbus, GA. Roy was an instructor for World at Work for over 20 years, teaching Continuing Education programs related to compensation and benefits programs. He was fluent in Spanish and his hobbies included rooting for the Clemson Tigers, the NY Giants and the Knicks. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Roy is survived by his daughters: Allison Outlaw (Michael), Heather Small, and Shannon Busby (Jeff); grandchildren: Marc, Eric, and Bryan Outlaw, Julian and Georgie Small, and Ashley, Will, and Lauren Busby; and brother, Kenneth Cureton (Debbie).

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC, with Rev. Grover Putnam officiating. A visitation will be held immediately following and a private burial will take place in Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain, NC.
