Ronald Gentry, 77, born in Greenville, he was the son of Amos and Bertha Privette Gentry. He is predeceased by his wife, Norma Kay Roddy Gentry; and his sister, Francis Wooten.
He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and was its first quarterback. His love for his country led him to serve in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Later, he worked as a plumber and also in security for different hospitals. He was a charter member of the American Legion Post 214. Ronald liked to joke around and was loved by many.
Surviving is son, Ronald Gentry, of Easley; daughter, Kim Liles, of Greenville; brother, Lewis Gentry; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Sunday, February 16, 2020, in the Chapel of Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00PM.
