Born in Brevard, NC on January 10, 1950, he was a son the late Grover C. Myers and Dorothy M. Hudson.
He served as a disaster relief volunteer with the Red Cross of Greenville throughout the United States. He also volunteered with the Gantt Fire Department. Roger was employed by Dallas Tax Service on White Horse Road in Greenville. He took great pride in being Santa Claus for underprivileged children throughout the years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Judith and Sandra; and 2 brothers, Carroll Ted and Will.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Susan Holcombe of York and Sherry Kelley of Oconee Co.; and 2 brothers, Michael Myers of Oconee Co. and Grover Myers, Jr. of CA. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews and many special friends, Brian Holt, Tammy Thurston, Louis Martin and Robert Neal.
A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held 2pm Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the chapel of The Mackey Mortuary.
Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
