Bob was born in Reading, PA to the late Elias Harold and Florence Fehr Frantz and raised in Montclair, NJ. He graduated from Princeton with a A.B. in 1950 and Harvard Business School with an MBA in 1955. He served as an Officer in the United States Navy from 1950 -1953.
Bob was married to the late Dorothy Dodd Frantz for 57 years and moved to Greenville in 1969. He held executive positions at Berks Products, Olivetti Underwood, and Procter & Gamble, Case & Company. He founded Frantz-Harder and Associates (1973) of Greenville, SC as well as established a presence as an entrepreneur in the cellular telephone industry. He was a member and past President (1993) of the Poinsett Club, Greenville, SC. Bob was deeply devoted to his family. He loved his dogs, history, family genealogy, and exercising daily to the end.
Survived by son: Scott Frantz (Betsy Frantz) of Arlington, VA; son Chris Frantz (Miranda Frantz) of Laurens, SC; daughter Diane Goodman (Jeff Goodman-deceased) of Greer, SC; daughter Wendy Simmons (Al Simmons, Jr) of Greer, SC and 12 grandchildren.
