Bob graduated from North Augusta Senior High School in 1966 and McCalls Business College before serving in the US Army in Vietnam. He served from 1968 until 1971 where he achieved the rank of E-5. He then served in the Army Reserves for a year in Clemson, South Carolina.
He began his professional career working for Dial Finance in Greenville, South Carolina and then moved to Dun & Bradstreet where he retired. He then worked for Dillard’s Department Store both in South Carolina and Georgia for many years.
He was predeceased by his mother, Laura Dickens Davis, a sister, Camille Argroves, his beloved cousin David Dyches, Jr., and his very special long-time friend, Charles Bolding.
He is survived by his three children. His sons, Joel (Lindsay) Argroves, Charles Argroves, Duncan, South Carolina, and his daughter, Laura Argroves (Jeff) of Cummings, Georgia. He has three granddaughters, Lilly, Chloe and Hazel. He also has two surviving sisters, Gena (Rodey) Dachenhausen of Inman, South Carolina and Paula Churchville of Augusta, Georgia. He also has a brother Eugene (Jim) Davis in Colorado. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday May 12, 2024 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 at 3:00 PM.
