Born in Hartsville, South Carolina, Rick was the son of the late Stephen Cornelius and Edna Frances Lambert.
Rick enjoyed traveling and always preferred to be outdoors where he could be active. He was happiest when he was interacting with people. He never met a stranger and loved both to hear and to tell a good story. His smile was contagious! Rick took great pride in his family and he led them by example. Rick loved the Lord and lived his life committed to Him.
In 1965, Rick obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He was employed by J.E. Sirrine (later Jacobs Engineering) for 29 years, ultimately becoming the Vice President of International Business. Subsequently, Rick was Business Development Manager for BE&K Engineering of North America.
Rick was an active member of Taylors First Baptist Church for 48 years where he served as a Deacon, a Greeter and on various committees.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Ada Lambert; his two sons, Clint (Jodi) Lambert and Ward (Denise) Lambert; and a daughter, Diana (Brian) Lunsford; four grandchildren; Wes (Lexi) Lambert, Morgan (Adam) Samples, Rick Lunsford, and Daniel Lunsford; and five great-grandchildren; Natalie Samples, Lena Lambert, Nathan Samples, Henry Lambert and Nicole Samples.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Stephen Cornelius and Edna Frances Lambert, a brother, Ronnie Lambert and a sister, Phyllis Lambert.
