Norma was born in Greenville, and was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Roberta Craigo Southerlin. She graduated from Parker High School in 1947. Norma attended Draughon’s Business School and began her career at Greenville News, followed by Winn Dixie Stores and United Merchants. In her later years, she worked in the Economic Development office at Furman University and retired after 15 years of service.
She was an active member of Sans Souci Baptist and First Presbyterian Churches. She was a devoted servant and demonstrated such through her active leadership and involvement in many areas of the church, especially the choir.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Malcolm T. Floyd; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Herb Sharpe, of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughter, Chandler Sharpe.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bob Jones and John Gentry officiating.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 9:30 am – 10:45 am in the church parlor.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation for researching a cure in the name of Norma S. Floyd.
