I met Mary Alice in the mid nineties at Carol Lee's dulcimer store.  We shared our love of traditional music, and she shared her great stories and words of wisdom.  Along with so many others, I will miss Mary Alice.

Our deepest sympathy to Mary Alice's family and friends.  It was a joy to know her and to share her love of music. She will be missed. 

No one  loved traditional music more than Mary Alice -  from her collection of instruments to her collection of the finest folk music books!  And, she was always pushing herself to learn to play better - I will never forget the hours we spent across from each other working on some new technique or in a group with all working on a new tune.  

I will never forget her perseverance in music, her knowledge of the 'old ways' and that wry smile.  You've left us with many stories to tell, Mary Alice!

We always enjoyed being with Mary Alice when she and Harry came to Charlotte/Huntersville to visit with Mike, Rachel and Ridley. Her tales of teaching and her review of her craft projects, along with her lovely cards, were always interesting.

We will miss our visits with her at the holidays.

I so enjoyed getting acquainted and participating with Mary Alice in the Senior Action ukelele groups.  I will miss her company.

Will miss our talks while spinning, weaving, watercolors, or just sitting, watching the sheep. A rare friend and find in one who knew well the 'old ways' , whether fiber arts or music- and generously shared her many talents. Her spirit  lives on through the many creations she leaves with family and friends. 

Thank you, Mary Alice, for all those beautiful cards you created as well as the notecards you gave me.

 The pets always loved the gifts you brought at Christmas!

I knew Mary Alice by way of Mountain Made in Pendleton, SC. I work there and met her when she would demonstrate her craft works.  She was the sweetest and nicest lady in all that she did. I loved talking with her and just being there listening to her talk about her family, which she loved.  My prayers to each of the children and her husband, Harry.  Sorry for your loss.
