He was the loving partner to Carmela Riether for 25 years and a wonderful father to children, John H. Russell Jr, Sara Elizabeth Russell, and late daughter Kelly S. Russell Mann. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joshua Mann, John H. Russell III and Jayne K. M. Russell and a great granddaughter, Joslyn Kelly Mann.
Born on March 13, 1946, he was the son of the late Eugene H. Russell and Sara Guyton.
John worked as a Station Manager for various airlines for over 50 years, including Eastern, Continental, and ATA. The airlines brought him to various places like Atlanta, Orlando, Daytona and Fort Myers Florida. He retired in 2006 settling in Greenville SC.
He was an avid golfer and loved to play cards with friends and neighbors. John enjoyed making conversation and sharing stories with wit and humor.
