Joe Wright, Jr.

Born November 2, 1943, in Jenkins County, GA, he was the son of the late Joe Wright and Mamie Whitworth Wright.

Joe was employed as Operations Manager at Dill Fabrication Co, Inc. In his lifelong career he was the founder and former owner of Wright Metal Products of Greenville SC and former owner of Skippers Landing on Lake Greenwood. He was an inventor of various textile products of which several patents were developed. He was also strongly involved with Ultramax Racing Chassis for many years.

Joe loved to hunt and fish and was involved in several hunting and fishing organizations. He was a charter member and former President of Beulah Creek Hunt Club, Life Member of B.A.S.S. (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society), Sponsor and Member of National Wild Turkey Federation, SC Department of Natural Resources, Alaska Wildlife and Great Falls Hunt Club. He was also a longtime supporter of The World Karting Association.

Joe is survived by his loyal companion, Michelle Pace, two sons, Anthony “Tony” Wright (Tresa) and Dale Cross (Sandra); daughter, Mary Lee Dickerson; grandchildren, Erika Ballard, Adam Dekalb, Allen Cross, Jason Cross (Lei) and Kimberly Cross Benton (Hutch); great grandchildren, Alexis Ballard (Ronnie Burkmier), Cameron Cross, Cole Cross, Damien Benton, Skyla Benton, Maci Cross, Chloe Cross, Analeigh Criscola, Harlow Dekalb, Kinsleigh Benton; great great grandchildren, Aspen Burkmier, Brynlee Burkmier; sisters, Mary Reid and Agnes Lorhman

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Lizzie Mae Gay.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 29 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Mackey at Century Drive followed by a celebration of Joe’s life at 3:00 p.m.
