Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Todd Johnston

Jeffrey "Jeff" Todd Johnston passed peacefully at home Friday, July 14th, surrounded by family. Jeff centered his life around his faith and his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of almost 33 years (Ginger Johnston) and a loving father to Lindsey Turner (Jayson), Todd Johnston (Catherine), and Hannah Patterson (Chase). He doted on his three grandchildren (Aden and Kenna Johnston, CJ Patterson) and celebrated his growing family. Jeff is also survived by his siblings Paul Johnston, Jr., Laurie McGraw, and Patti Jo Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Roland and Peggy Rennels Johnston.

Jeff was happiest always watching his entire family be together. He cherished every moment, whether it was holidays, a backyard cookout, family vacations, or a pool day. He also adored and spoiled his two dogs.

He built and cherished a strong family foundation. He led his family to walk with Christ and trust God’s word. Jeff was selfless, kind, and hard-working. He was active in church and provided support to others in need. Respected within his community, Jeff was known for being humble, supportive, and friendly. Affectionately known as “Shugie Bear,” Jeff left a lasting positive impact on his childhood friends and teammates.

Jeff relied on God throughout his long battle with cancer and remained positive in his outlook. He continued to fight to stay present with his family and constantly reminded them that God is faithful until the end of his life.

A visitation for Jeff will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
