Jacqueline S Huffman

Jacqueline “Jackie” Spears Huffman, 72, of Taylors, SC, died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 26, 2017. Born in Columbia, SC on November 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William Carl and Louise Kittrell Spears, as well as the wife of John W. Huffman, III.

Jackie graduated from University High School and went to work at Southern Bell (now AT&T). She worked her way up from a switchboard operator to a customer service representative and retired after 32 ½ years. Jackie was a member of Grace Communion International Church.

In addition to her loving husband, Jackie is survived by her son, James Brian Huffman (Mia); grandchildren, Jones and Taeli; sisters, Geralyn Snelgrove (Larris) of Springfield, GA and Shirley Ingram (Jack) of Little Mountain, SC; a brother, Carl Stanley Spears (Elaine) of Lexington, SC; as well as a number of nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her kind and gentle manner.

The funeral service for Mrs. Huffman will be held at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville, SC with Pastor Richard Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 o’clock. Interment will follow at a later date in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Greenville Cancer Society, 113 Mills Ave, Greenville, SC 29605 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.
