He was born on March 7, 1956 in Greenville, SC to the late Frank Riley “Buddy” and Toby Watson. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Meg Watson and his adult children, Ryan Christopher Watson of Taylors, SC, Kathleen Taylor Watson of Bradley, SC and Kimberly Aurelia Watson of Davenport, Fl. Frank is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Lanning and her husband, Jim Lanning of Taylors, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Frank graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1975 with an emphasis in vocational training where he received a certificate in Drafting with an emphasis in Specialty piping, sheet metal and Mechanical from Foothills Vocational School. He also attended Greenville Technical College.
Frank worked for numerous businesses in his early years including Manager of Concessions with the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, Al’s Auto Supply, Dixie Electronics and Spartan Food Systems before becoming part owner/operator of, The Butcher The Baker Management Co., Inc. Dba Fuddruckers Restaurants for 37 years, where he just retired as of March 2023.
Frank enjoyed many extra activities and hobbies including traveling with his family, playing the guitar, boating, riding his motorcycle, Electronic repair, music and loved his two dogs, Harley and Olivia and his cat, Smokey. He could fix just about anything around the house that needed to be fixed and also in the restaurants that he was a part owner in where he did most of the maintenance in all the stores.
Frank loved the Lord with his whole heart and was a devoted husband and father and very supportive of his children’s dreams and aspirations.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mackey Funeral and Cremations at 311 Century Dr., Greenville, SC 29607. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 10:30 am at Covenant Church, 1310 Old Spartanburg Rd, Greer, SC 29650. A committal service will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
The family would like to extend thanks to the nurses and doctors at Greer Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion that they showed Frank and our family during his short battle with cancer.
