Born to Albert and Teresia Hennessey in London, England, Frances attended Catholic school through high school followed by two years at Brixton College. In 1967 she moved to Frankfurt, Germany where she met her future husband, Michael. Together they lived six years in Germany while Mike served in the American Air Force. During this time, their first two children were born. In 1973 the family moved to Mike’s hometown of Greenville, SC. Mike and Frances were married for 56 years.
Her passion was family and traveling. Having convinced Mike that taking a cruise would be fun, they traveled around the world on more than 40 cruises. Her happiest times were the family cruises when all children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters would come together. Frances will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering support of loved ones, and the bright spirit that she brought into every room. Her presence will be deeply missed by all.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, Mike, and her children, Alexandra, Christopher and his wife Diane, and Lizzie and her husband Eric. She was a cherished Oma to seven grandchildren: Rachel, Nick, Sam, Emmy, Ella, August, and Ava. Frances also leaves behind her sister, Resi, her brother Peter and his wife Sue, brother-in-law Steve and his wife Vickie, sister-in-laws Pat and Linda, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC on Thursday, August 1st at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at Holly Tree Country Club from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
