Frances Welborn Briggs, age 90, passed peacefully on July 2, 2015 in Greenwood. She was born in Greenville to the late Robert Louie Welborn and Marie Hill Welborn. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her beloved husband of 58 years, Raymond Earl Briggs; brother, Robert L. Welborn, Jr.; and sister Janet Welborn Thompson.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Greenwood, enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer with 9 sanctioned holes-in-one. For many years she jointly managed the family dry cleaning business with her husband.
Surviving are her son, Raymond Earl Briggs, Jr. of Greenville and brother, James Welborn and wife Martha of Isle of Palms; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park with reception following in Woodlawn Funeral Home Hospitality Room . The family will greet friends from 2:30 until time of service.
