Marie was the youngest of four daughters of the late Homer and Lois Darnell. Marie was a seamstress and stay at home mom for many years. She had a special gift for making all things beautiful, from flower arrangements, to clothes for others, to decorating her home and the church she loved. She was a lifelong member of Berea First Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including the decorating committee, The Living Christmas Tree, and a member of the Mary-Loyalty Sunday School Class.
Marie is survived by her two sons Rick C. Farr (Kelli), and Mark Steven Farr (Evelyn); sister Peggy Jean Campbell; four grandchildren Rebecca Hathaway (John), Belinda Farr, Taylor Bayne (Travis), Adam Farr (Annie); four great-grandchildren John Soloman, Rylee, Samuel and Grayson. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members to love and cherish their memories of her.
Marie was predeceased by husbands Marvin C. (Pat) Farr, James E. Farr, and Paul Dacus; sisters Betty Wilson, and Dorothy Hayes.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 529 Farrs Bridge Rd, Greenville, South Carolina 29611, with a visitation starting at 11:00 am. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Graceland Cemetery West, 4814 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611.
Contributions in Marie's memory may be made to Berea First Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
The family will be at the home of Rick and Kelli Farr in Easley, South Carolina.
