Edith Sides Patterson

Edith Sides Patterson, 98, wife of the late Robert F. Patterson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7th, 2023. She was born on June 2, 1924 in Rockwell, NC to the late Lewis E. Sides and Maude Lefler Sides.

She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Rockwell High School and afterwards attended a year of business school. She was very active in her neighborhood and her community and loved gardening and reading.

Mrs Patterson was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church for 70 years and enjoyed the fellowship of its members and especially the Presbyterian Women's Circle.

She is survived by son L. DeWitt Patterson (Judy); daughter Robin P. Madden; daughter-in-law Debi L. Patterson; two granddaughters Carrie Wisher and Lindsay O'Neal (Jesse); two grandsons Michael Patterson and Richard Patterson; and one great grandson Urijah O'Neal.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by a son Mark F. Patterson; two brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2023 at Fourth Presbyterian Church.

Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall.
