Deborah Knight McDonald

Deborah was the daughter of the late Gettys Shaw Knight and Janie Davenport Knight.

Deborah worked as a kindergarten teacher and as a teacher’s aid in an orthopedically disabled classroom. She loved her work. She was actively involved in the fellowship at Laurel Baptist church and was a devout Christian. She loved to read and to travel with her husband. She also vehemently loved her family.

Deborah is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kaye McDonald Richard; her three grandchildren, Ashley McCollum Chitwood and her husband Ryan, Leslie Ryan McDonald, and Marion Shaw McDonald Jr and his wife Becca; her five great grandchildren Joseph Shaw McCollum, John Robert McCollum, Elizabeth Tess McDonald, Olivia Grace McDonald, Carson Blake McDonald; and her eight great grand dogs Shimmer McCollum, Norman Chitwood, Gracie Chitwood, Rufus McDonald, Beau McDonald, Olive McDonald, Oskar Blue McDonald, and Jakob Erik McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marion McDonald, her brother, Charles Knight, and her son Marion Shaw McDonald Sr.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.
