He was born and raised in Covington, VA, and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Billy was a builder by trade and later became a business owner in Virginia. He relocated with his family to South Carolina in 1978 where he worked in retail and real estate.
Billy was a Godly man and walked faithfully with his Lord, serving in various churches as both a Deacon and an Elder. He was currently a member of Living Hope Presbyterian Church in Greer, SC, where he served as an Elder for the last 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Jo Wilhelm Hill; son, Steven Ray Hill (Janie); granddaughter, Christl Hill Williams (Patrick); grandson, Kevin Alexander Hill (Ashley); granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Woernle Hill; and eight great-grandchildren: Braydon, Felicity, Reagan, Billy, Reece, Jett, Jackson, and Savannah. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Zuill Hill; and a great-granddaughter, Serenity Hill.
His family was blessed by his life, love, and wisdom. One of his favorite sayings was, “Only one life, t’will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” His life here has passed. He is now with his Lord in Heaven, but the legacy he leaves with his family and friends will last forever.
