

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Gene and Johnnie Jeter. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1966, and soon after, joined the air force where he served our country during the Vietnam War. Later, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, father, and uncle, to become a mechanic. He worked in the family business of Jeter & Sons, and eventually partnered to open Jeter & Plaxco Garage. He grew up in, and attended, Central Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Later, he and his family joined Northgate Baptist Church. Ben loved joking, laughing, South Carolina football, fishing, but most of all, he loved his family.
Surviving are his wife, Susie Jeter; his son Chris Jeter; his two daughters, Katie Jeter Robirds & husband Nathan, and Anne Jeter van Landingham & husband Nate; his five grandchildren, Dakota Jeter, Benji Jeter, Eden Jeter, Nathaniel van Landingham, and Kyle Robirds; his sister Brenda Reynolds and husband Bob; his two nephews, Bryan Reynolds & Matthew Reynolds; and his niece, Ada Reynolds.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2pm in the chapel of The Mackey Mortuary. The family will receive friends following the service until 3:30pm.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with military honors.
