Sandra L. Stevenson, age 81 of Greenville, Ohio went peacefully to be with the Lord at 3:20 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Brookdale Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Frankfort, Indiana on February 9, 1937 to the late Seigel Ellis & Mildred Grace (Messler) Palmer. Sandra was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Ohio. Sandra was a graduate of Ball State College, having received her Bachelor’s degree in education; a graduate of Ball State University, where she received her Master’s Degree in education; and received a certificate from Wright State University for special education. She taught elementary & junior high students in special education, taught visually impaired students and tutored at various cities and states including Indiana, Iowa, Ohio and Nebraska. She helped start special education initiatives in Greenville Schools. Sandra was a former secretary for the Darke County Genealogical Society; taught Sunday school at the church and vocational bible school in various cities and states; and participated in various women’s church clubs and adult family clubs. She loved raising, training and showing horses; cooking; painting, gardening and genealogy. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Survived by husband of 58 years, Don Stevenson: sons Tom Stevenson & Michele Good; Bruce & Laura Stevenson; Michael & Annette Stevenson: grandsons Stuart A. Stevenson; Iain C. Stevenson; Harding T. Stevenson: sister Sharon Kay Palmer: as well as many more family members and friends.
Friends may call on the family from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM with Rev.Dr. John Person presiding. Burial to be held at a later date, Greenville Union Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.
