Phyllis Ann (Young), age 93 of Greenville, Ohio went to be with the Lord on October 7th, 2024 at 2:40 AM. She was born August 20, 1931 in Darke County, Ohio and was daughter of the late Herman and Helen (Hittle, Bigham) Young.
Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of Versailles High School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville where she served as an elder, a deacon, and she enjoyed the card ministry. She worked at Wayne Hospital and Eikenberry’s IGA. Phyllis retired from Second National Bank, following 17 years of employment. She loved interacting with her customers and was remembered for her pleasant personality and humor.
She loved sewing and quilting by hand, having made many beautifully and perfectly stitched quilts for her family. She was also known to make counted cross stitch pictures for wedding gifts. Her iced sugar cookies were always a special treat.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded by her husband, Carl Eugene; infant sister, Donna Jean; step-father, Don Bigham; and great grandchild, Jayden Wehrley. Her family meant everything to her.
She is loved by her son, Tom (Stephanie) Trittschuh, Mansfield, Ohio; Daughters, Vickie (Michael) Westfall, Cincinnati, Ohio; Lisa (Rob) Wehrley, Medina, Ohio. Grandchildren include: Matt (Anitra) Trittschuh, Nick (Kelly) Westfall, Ben Westfall, Jansen (Colleen)Wehrley, Kyle (Amanda) Trittschuh,
Justin (Lacey) Wehrley, Janna (Tyler) Sanders. Step-Granddaughter, Tiffany Parker.
Great Grandchildren are Cailyn, Austin, Carter Westfall; Jace, Jordyn, Jovie Wehrley; Mason, Braxton, Weston Trittschuh, Hudson , Madison Sanders, Brayden, Brenna Bickers, Raygen, Alina, Alaina Van Horn. Devoted family members also include her brother, Jack (Sherry) Young, Covington, and many loving siblings of Carl.
Services will be held on October 10, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church, 114 E. Fourth St., Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. John Person and Rev. Andrew Gilman officiating. Visitation from 11:00-12:00 with services beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
