Mark is survived by his father & step mother, Dennis & Janice (Mock) Sides of Greenville; sons & daughters-in-law, Nathan Sides serving in the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan, Jeff & Elizabeth Sides of Greenville and Anthony & Traci Smith of Piqua; grandchildren, Devin & Greyson Smith; brothers & sisters-in-law, Todd Sides of Columbus, Dean & Jessie Hill of Montana, Darrel Sides of Cincinnati and Tony & Lynn Lewis of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother & step father, Kay (Shuff) & Jim Segrest.
Mark served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. He was a graduate of Kettering College of Medical Arts and worked as a Physician’s Assistant. Mark held an amateur radio license. He was a member of ARRL, the National Association for Amateur Radio; Treaty City Amateur Radio Association and Darke County Amateur Radio Emergency Services.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Lowell Miller officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Dayton National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
