Dorothy S. Westfall, age 106 of Dayton, Ohio passed away at 8:49 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her daughter’s home in West Alexandria, Ohio. Born in Rossburg, Ohio on September 2, 1917 she was a daughter to the late John & Minnie (Williamson) VanScoyk. Dorothy was a homemaker, and later in life she worked at Esther Price Candies for 25 years. She was a hard worker, and grew up on a farm east of Rossburg. She had a warm heart and was a very caring person, she loved family birthday parties and Christmas’s and she even sent each and every family member a card on their birthday every year. She was known for her phenomenal cooking, including her chicken and noodles, german chocolate cake, cherry pies and her homemade cinnamon bread that she would pass out to anyone who wanted it. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and playing cards, and she was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. More than anything she loved her family, and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Westfall: son Tom Westfall: granddaughter Cheryl Baldridge.
Survived by her children John & Roberta Westfall; Rebecca & Dennis Weinert; Ginger & Greg Spratt; Mike & Pam Westfall: 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral will be held at 11 AM with Jeff Law presiding. Burial to follow at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice Foundation –7887 Washington Village Dr, Suite #350, Dayton, Ohio 45459- in honor of Dorothy.
