Friday, April 28, 2023. Craig was born November 17, 1956, in Darke County, the son of
Wilson and Phyllis (Cole) Dubbs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two older brothers, Gale C
Dubbs and Dean V Dubbs.
Craig is survived by his wife, Luann Rengstorf Dubbs. They met while students at The
Ohio State University and wed in 1981 at Wayne Lakes, Ohio.
Also surviving are his siblings, Philip (Shirley) Dubbs and Marcia (Robert) McCue as
well as sisters-in-law, Janice Dubbs and Kathy Dubbs; brother-in-law, Tim (Susan)
Rengstorf; and nephews, Patrick Dubbs, Matthew McCue, Jonathan McCue, Dean
Dubbs, Bradley McCue ,Christopher Rengstorf; nieces Allison Dubbs, Leeta Martin,
Tina Richards, Teresa McLear and Lauren Rengstorf.
Craig was a graduate of Tri-Village High School and The Ohio State University where he
studied agricultural business.
Craig built a successful career as a commodities broker on the Chicago Board of Trade.
He forged strong relationships with farmers throughout the Midwest, connecting through
his family background in farming and gaining trust with his constant monitoring of grain
markets around the world. He rose early in the morning to learn weather forecasts and
market forecasts in other time zones.
Relatives and friends could depend on Craig to arrange tours of the trading floor when
visiting Chicago. He enjoyed riding his bike around Grant Park and the lake.
For many years he shared his father's enjoyment of horses and harness racing.
Craig often spent weekend time in Darke County at the family farm and in recent
years he and Luann built a home in New Madison where he continued to consult with
customers and complete buys and sales remotely.
The family wants to express special thanks for the kind efforts of Anne-Marie Downing,
his personal caretaker, and the staff and nurses at Everheart Hospice, and to Tim
Brinley, his lifelong friend and dependable helper during Craig's illness.
A service of remembrance is planned at the New Madison United Methodist Church
on Wednesday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor David Richey and the Reverend Carol
Duffield will lead the service. Friends and family are invited to share a meal following
the service. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made to the New Madison United Methodist Church.
