Maria Dores Duarte Martins

Maria Dores Duarte Martins, 57, passed away October 27, 2021. She was born on March 15, 1964, in Rio Brazil. After immigrating to the United States, she taught herself English through American television and music. Maria was a hard worker and a caring and loving mother. She was a devoted housekeeper and never let anything in her life hold her back. Self-reliance was what she was known for and always had her children’s best interest at heart. Maria is survived by her beloved children, Pedro Bayless (Eve Wickard), Carlos Filho, and Karla Duarte (Max Boanerges); grandchildren, David Boanerges and one on the way; and former spouse, Dana Bayless. A visitation will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ray Sweet officiating.
