Linda J. Tungate, 72, of Greensburg passed away on November 23, 2022. She was born on April 20, 1950 in Tennessee, the daughter of Guy and Thelma Scott Knight. She was a 1968 graduate of Greensburg High School. On August 29, 1970 she married Granville "Lee" Tungate.
Linda previously served as the Decatur County Assessor; she worked at the Greensburg Daily News in Sales; and was a Hearing Care Practitioner at Audiology Hearing Care. She was a member of the Sandcreek Baptist Church where she served on the Board of Christian Education; she was instrumental in starting up the Sunday School, and wrote the Christmas Program. Linda loved making candy, floral décor, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and visiting her grand-pups. She was always ready to help anyone in any way that she could.
Survivors include: Daughter, Ashlee (Scott) Green; Granddaughter, Dahlia Green; Brother, Steven (Jessica) Knight; and 7 Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband Lee Tungate; Son, Darren Tungate; and Grandson Nicholas Christianson.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm. Rev. Doug Preston, Rev. Harold Carter and Jim Adams will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery.
