Colleen Cherry, 51, of Greensburg passed away on March 4, 2014. She was born on December 29, 1962 in Anaheim, California, the daughter of Hugh and Rosanne Miller. Colleen was a 1981 graduate of South Decatur High School. She was a quality control specialist for Nipro (formerly Wheaton) of Westport for over 20 years. Colleen loved her family, shopping, and traveling. She was a silent helper supporting many different causes by volunteering and donating. She was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Columbus. On October 29, 1992, she married David Lee Cherry.
Survivors include: Husband- David Cherry, Parents- Hugh and Rosanne Miller, Children- Jenny (Ryan) Burkhart, Michael Colson, Jessica Cherry, Jennifer Colson, and Stephanie Cherry, Grandchildren- Jada, Layne, and Ashton Lee, Nolan and Maggie Burkhart, Mariah Cherry, and RoseLyn Volk, Sister- Kathy (Greg) Pataky, Father-in-law- William Cherry, Brothers-in-law- Tom Cherry and Richard (Donna) Cherry. She was preceded in death by her Mother-in-law- Luella Cherry.
A Rosary Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014, with a visitation for family and friends following until 6:00 p.m. at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, Indiana. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Columbus, Indiana with calling from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass. Father Doug Marcotte will be officiating. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the future creation of Colleens Closet, a local non-profit organization to help cancer patients with everyday needs.
